Freddie's Park Mar 17 M & Jim 12 Crescent Dam, probed many side channels & marshes, lunch at Colonie Town Park. Very mild day, calm water.
Henry Hudson Mar 18 Both 10 Papscanee Creek & Moordener Kill, lunch at Schodack Island SP. Vloman Kill on the way back.
Dutchman's Landing Mar 20 Both 15 Upriver past Hudson, several siamesed red buoys, one stricken green removed by CG. Lunch at MGF, return head to wind via Hallenbeck Creek.
Coxsackie Mar 21 M 16 Upstream easy with tide & breeze. Turnaround at New Baltimore. Return more difficult head to wind.
Coxsackie Mar 23 Both 15 Downriver to four mile point, SMG, lunch at HRISP, upriver past RI, return eased by following north wind.
Sherman Island April 3 Both & seadogs 8 Up to Spier Falls, lunch near Sherman Island Dam. Wood ducks, mergansers, mallards.
Coxsackie April 14 M 14 Upstream to Poolsburg, lunch on Bronck Island. Several eagles, one tug, quiet day.
Coxsackie April 19 Both 14 Lunch on Bronck Island, turnaround at Poolsburg. Several eagles, two tugs, one cargo ship, many turtles, beautiful day.
Stuyvesant Landing April 30 M 13 Slow paddle around Stockport Flats. Wild columbines in profusion. Two tugs. Four mergansers. Three eagles put on a late aerial show.
Huletts Landing May 2 Both & seadogs 12 Down east side. Lunch at Black Mountain Point. Return west side. Calm, gray day. Nary a breeze.
Coxsackie May 6 Both 8 Busy day on the river, many fishermen & power boats. Explored Empire Brickyard Bay, SMG & Little Nutten Hook.
Henry Hudson May 7 Both 14 Many bass fishermen & gbh's past counting. No lunch at Hannacroix Preserve. Too much mud at low tide. Shore 100 feet away.
Coxsackie May 12 M 14 A dozen eagles on Coxsackie Island, most left as a cargo ship quietly approached. Turnaround at Poolsburg. Many more eagles, at least 25 on the day.
Stuyvesant Landing May 13 Both 11 Coxsackie Creek, Rattlesnake Island, Nutten Hook & Little Nutten Hook. A half dozen eagles, all immature.
Freemans Bridge May 17 M 8 Alplaus Kill, Aqueduct, Mohawk Valley Marine — dotting the eye.
North Germantown Landing May 18 M 18 Roe Jan, beacon 129, lunch at Cohotate Preserve. Ospreys are back, rebuilding their nest.
Forbes Avenue May 19 M 14 One cargo ship, many tugs. Lunch at 214. Turnaround at Staats Point. Calm entire paddle. Lovely day.
Coxsackie May 20 Both 13 Quiet paddle late afternoon. One tug. One cargo ship. Turnaround above Mill Creek.
Coxsackie May 24 M 10 Down to Priming Hook, turnaround at 140. Gray & breezy all day.
Stuyvesant Landing May 25 Both 11 Downstream on ebb head to wind. Choppy water. Lunch at SMG. Tide turned, wind died, dull return.
Athens May 27 Both 13 Many kayaks, pleasure boats & three tugs. Lunch at Cohotate Preserve. Turnaround at Catskill Point.
Henry Hudson May 30 M 10 Three running tugs converged near Scarano Boat Builders. Safe vantage obtained in the mouth of Island Creek. Return head to wind.
Coxsackie May 31 M 15 Stop at RR Village beach, turnaround at Cornell Park, stop at Bronck Island. Sunny, windy day.

Vandenburgh-Dunsbach Ferry July 2 Both 11 Upstream to the dam. Three eagles & three kingfishers. Wind picked up, mostly following, on the way back.

Coeymans Landing July 6 Both & Jim 10 Hannacroix Creek, lunch at RR Village beach, Blackbeard's Cove gone. Cargo ship passed in slow motion.
Coxsackie July 9 M 15 Around MGF, many eagles. Lunch at Four Mile Point. Variable breezes.
Charles Rider July 11 M 20 Passed by Hutton brickyard ruins, looked into Rondout's mouth, circled Esopus Meadow Light, lunch at Mills Mansion. Long, lovely day.
Plum Point July 13 Both 15 Around Pollepel Island (Bannerman's Castle still a wreck), lunch at trashy Little Stony Point, pit stop at Foundry Dock Park, continued to World's End on easy water. Signs of weather change, turnaround, strong following wind all the way back. A blast!

Lock C-1 July 17 M & seadogs 7 Upstream to C-2 on easy water, return into a mild breeze. Early paddle to beat the heat.
Coxsackie July 19 M 13 Late paddle, tranquil. Upstream to 180, poked around several places, a half dozen eagles, two tugs.
Corning Preserve July 21 M 17 Meetup paddle for HRV Greenway's Hudson River Day to Henry Hudson Park, return solo.
Rogers Rock July 22 Both & seadogs 11 Ti Town Beach, Mossy Point, dam. Stiff south breezes all day.
Glasco Landing July 25 Both & Jim 10 Around Magdalen Island into North Bay, lunch below Cruger Island, cross over to Sojourner Truth Ulster Landing Park. Stiff NE NW NE breezes.
Freddie's Park July 29 Both 11 Late paddle on quiet water. Turnaround at Shaker Creek.
Dutchman's Landing July 30 M 15 Yellow floating-hearts above Rogers Island, many ospreys, two tugs. Lunch at MGF.
Henry Hudson July 31 Both & Julia 5 Evening intro to paddling for Julia. Upstream past Staats Point, Vlomankill.
Henry Hudson August 2 Both 11 Hot, still day. Lunch at Schodack Island State Park, Coeymans. Switched boats on the way back.

Coxsackie August 6 M 16 MGF, OHC below Athens, lunch at SMG, wind picked up a bit on the way back.

Stuyvesant Landing August 8 M 15 Another nice day. Easy tide ride almost to HA. Some wind & turbulence as a tug approached, followed by calm.
Stuyvesant Landing August 12 Both 10 Poolsburg to Shady Harbor Marina. Many eagles moving about, some vocal, numerous crossovers.
Coxsackie August 13 M 21 Upstream again looking for & finding eagles. Also met Mark on his epic18x. We paddled together many miles, turning around above Coeymans' breakwater.
Athens August 16 M 17 Up east side MGF, mouth of Stockport Creek, Nutten Hook, rest at Gays Point. Many eagles again & a pair of ospreys.
Henry Hudson August 20 Both 8 Short easy paddle. Three tugs, pit stop at Schodack Island State Park.
Stuyvesant Landing August 21 Both 11 Down river with ebb, around SMG, eagles, ospreys & a professional botanist.
Coxsackie August 22 Both 11 SMG, around small island in Stockport Flats, lunch at MGF. Very quiet paddle until osprey aerial show near the end.
Coxsackie August 24 M 15 Little Nutten Hook, SMG & around MGF. Quiet day, all aspects.
Blue Mountain Lake August 25 Both 15 Blue Mountain Lake, Eagle Lake & Utowana Lake. Lovely paddle on clear water.
Hague August 26 Both 8 Escorted swimmers for Open Water 4 mile swim to Rogers Rock. Water turned chaotic on the way back.
North Germantown Landing August 29 Both 11 Roe Jan, Half Moon at Burden Dock, lunch at Dutchman's Landing. Met Alan & Char. On return, potentially favorable north wind abated!
Henry Hudson August 31 Both 8 Early paddle to beat heat. Stop at Schodack Island State Park. Wind again died on turnaround!

Stuyvesant Landing Sept 5 Both 11 Around Coxsackie & Rattlesnake Islands separately. Gays Point for lunch. Around SMG. Many eagles & ospreys.
Sojourner Truth Ulster Landing Sept 7 Both 13 Around Kingston Point, up Rondout Creek, lunch at Sleightsburg. Cell phone remained on hatch cover the whole way. Return over the flat.
123rd Street Sept 9 Both ? Waterford Tugboat Roundup.

Coxsackie Oct 18 M 10 Windy early, settled down later. Boat stuck on sandbar near SMG, tugs near MGF & the dredger at Four Mile Point.
Coxsackie Oct 20 M 10 Calm early, windy later. Met David from Hillsdale at SMG, together to Stockport Creek, solo to Priming Hook. Quartered most of the way back. Water level high, lots of debris.

Dutchman's Landing Oct 26 Both & seadogs 13 Two large eagles & an owl. One tug & the dredger. Lunch at MGF, wind picked up, choppy return. No sun. Paddle #100.
Henry Hudson Oct 28 Both 8 Photo op Port of Albany. Two tugs. Water level very high possibly due to barge canal release prior to tropical storm Sandy.
Coxsackie Nov 10 M 12 Gray early, gradual improvement, lunch at RR Village beach. Two tugs, the dredger & two adult eagles.
